ESLL 2021 Regular Season Information & Documents

NOTE:  Given the constantly changing environment surrounding Covid-19 health and safety protocols, East Sac Little League reserves the right to change, amend, adjust and update any of the program details, schedules and plans for the season outlined below at any time to address any county and state guidelines.  ESLL will communicate any necessary changes to all registered families.

2021 Safety Protocols

East Sac Little League will uphold and follow all California State and Sacramento County Guidelines and Protocols instituted by Public Health at all times.  To that end, ESLL has developed, submitted for approval and will institute a league wide safety protocol as detailed in the plan included below.  All families must indicate agreement and acknowledgement of the plan in order for their child to participate in the program, both practices and games.  ESLL will update and evolve safety measures per the County and State as the program progresses.  Safety of our community, players and volunteers is of utmost importance.

Current CDPH Guidelines, Youth Sports & Conditioning

Current SCDPH Guidelines, Youth Sports & Conditioning

Safety measures will be implemented by the ESLL Board and Team Managers and Coaches.  Parents will be informed of all safety requirements and protocols.

NOTE:  We cannot require that volunteers, parents or any adult within our league be vaccinated.  All adults will be required to wear masks at all times across all divisions and activities.

When questions of safety arise, we kindly request that you bring your concern to the attention of your child's coach or a member of the ESLL Board of Directors.  Please do NOT confront a parent or another adult to attempt to enforce safety protocols yourself.  Thank you for your respect in this process.

Registration Window

- Registration opens, all divisions:  Saturday, February 6th @ 12:00am
- Registration closes, all divisions:  Sunday, February 21st at 11:59pm

*Given the requirements of co-hort formation and our timeline to begin on March 1st, late registrations will not be accepted this year to allow Division Rep's sufficient time to form co-horts and Managers sufficient time to communicate with parents.

Divisions Offered & Structure

Structure for all divisions:
Our 2021 regular season will launch with youth sports conditioning only, as permitted currently in the Purple Tier by CA State and Sacramento County guidelines.

Co-horts will be formed and communicated for this period in accordance with the guidelines.  Players will condition/practice with their co-hort of players and coaches for either up to eight weeks or until Sacramento County reaches the Red Tier at which time we will transition into a game schedule (while hopefully also keeping some practice sessions).

:  TBall, Single A, AA, AAA and Majors Baseball will be offered.  These divisions include players league ages 4 - 12.  Please refer to the Baseball tab for the 2021 age chart.
* Juniors baseball may be offered if we have sufficient player interest and a parent volunteers to coach.

Softball:  Rookies, Minors and Majors Softball will be offered which includes players ages 7 - 12.  Please refer to the Softball tab for the 2021 age chart.

Draft & Tryouts

Tryouts and drafts will not be held for any divisions of baseball or softball this season.

The time spent within the conditioning program at the beginning of the season will serve as player evaluation.  When games are permitted, coaches will share information about the level of each player and the Division Rep for each division will work with the coaches to balance teams accordingly and move players amongst teams before games officially begin.  Time will be built into this process to allow players to change co-horts within the safety timelines.  Players will likely change teams from their co-hort conditioning group.  We will allow 10-14 days in between that period to develop the schedule and move players to appropriate teams for the purpose of skill balance.

NOTE:  This guideline does not apply to TBall or Single A baseball.

Field Locations

NOTEWE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO OUR HOME FIELD COMPLEX AT PHOEBE HEARST FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURESac City Unified School District has denied all requests for use of fields on school property to date.  If that changes, and permits are allowed and approved, we may add these locations for both practices and games.  We do not expect to receive access to any of these fields this season though, and therefore have applied for and developed alternative field locations as listed below.

Majors & AAA Baseball:  Practice - and hopefully games when permitted, will take place at George Sims Park, 6207 Logan Street, Sacramento.  This field complex offers a regulation-size baseball field, parking, concession stand, restrooms and lights.  Some practices and games will be held under the light during evening hours.  We are working very hard on this park and feel it is a terrific substitute for our user division baseball teams.

AA, A & TBall:  Practices and games, when permitted will be held at several parks throughout East Sac including East Portal, McKinley and Coloma Community Center.  Some AA practices and games may be held at George Sims if space allows in the schedule.

Softball:  Practices and games, when permitted, will be held at the East Portal Softball Field with McKinley, Coloma and East Portal Bowl utilized for some Rookies practices.

2021 ESLL Fees & Refund Policy

2021 Season Fee: All Divisions, Baseball & Softball:  $175.00 per player

2021 Refund Policy - specific to cancellations due to Covid-19:  If the season is cancelled due to changes to guidelines surrounding Covid-19, the following refund schedule will be implemented for any family choosing a refund:

Before or on May 1, 2021:  $100 per player refund
After May 1st but before or on June 1, 2021:  $25 per player refund.  Player keeps team jersey and hat.
After June 1, 2021:  No refunds for any player for any reason except medical as defined below.

2021 Refund Policy - unrelated to Covid activity:  No refunds will be given after the close of 2021 registration on Sunday, February 21st at 11:59pm, with the exception of medical reasons outside of, and unrelated to Covid-19.  Refund requests for medical reasons must be accompanied by a hard copy note, signed, from a doctor submitted to the League President with your request.  Aside from this reason, no refunds will be given.

Youth Sports Conditioning/Practice:  Begins the week of March 1st.  The conditioning program will be offered for eight weeks across all divisions.  If and when Sacramento County reaches the red tier, the league will transition into a combination game/practice schedule.  this may take place earlier than eight weeks into the season.

Games:  If Sac County reaches the red tier and games are permitted, they will begin approximately 10-14 days after notice of reaching the red tier and approval from the SCDPH and Sacramento Parks & Rec.  Given the fluctuating nature of our current environment and limited permit time at some locations, we do not know, nor can commit to a certain number of games per division once we reach the red tier.  Know that we will make our best effort to offer as many games as possible for every division.

Uniforms:  Uniforms - including a jersey and hat, will be distributed to each player if, and when, we reach the red tier and games are permitted.  If we do NOT reach the red tier and the season ends in eight weeks with only youth sports conditioning, no uniforms will be given pursuant to the refund offered.

Parents are asked to provide all individual equipment - both clothing and baseball or softball.  Equipment of any kind will not be permitted to be shared this season for any division.

2021 Volunteer Program

Given the unknown nature of this spring season, we have decided not to institute a formal deposit and hour requirement for volunteer time for the 2021 season for parents of our players.

We do ask kindly that when we put out the call, that you volunteer your time for your child's team or field set-up or the concession stand or events upon request.  It takes hours and legions of volunteers to successfully and carefully operate a league of this size and scope.  ESLL is made better by every investment of time made.  Your child and the league directly benefit form your effort.

If we are not able to recruit volunteers when we make requests, activities and events will not be able to be offered.

We hope you will volunteer to help us make this season a HUGE success.  Thank you!

Please contact the appropriate Board Member specific to your question as listed on our Board of Directors page here:
